Origins of Ancona bantam
Ancona race comes from the middle of Italy. This breed was created in the early 1900s by crossing the “classic” Ancona chicken with miniature chickens. The large breed of Italian origin was greatly perfected in the UK. bantam is of English origin. Bantam chicken, very lively and strong. A little restless chicken, but they can get beaten.

Ancona bantam chicken is very similar to Livorno bantam (in German selection). It has a thin structure and a fairly upright posture, a fairly long tail, is extended and carried along the ridge line. The wings are lowered and long enough to come out of the body.
For Ancona Nana, the same colors are considered a larger variant: black with white spots and blue with white spots. The white dots (also called pearl motifs) that characterize silver tend to be larger as the chicken ages.

It lays eggs with a white shell. Ancona Bantam lays about 140 eggs per year
