It originates in China (Shanghai), imported to Europe in the middle of the 19th century. The current Cochinchina is a large chicken due to the abundance of long, fluffy feathers and persistence of infantile feathers. Rustic breed easy breeding, mostly used for display purposes.
Short and broad head, with a simple straight five-pointed top. Big eyes with red irises. Short neck with a loose cape. Short wings close to the body. Bobtail. Claws and toes are covered with long hairs.

- Hens 3.0 – 4.5 kg
The spawning capacity is approximately 120 eggs per year in brown-yellow color and weight.
