Jærhøns
Norwegian Jaerhon chickens are the only surviving native breed of chickens in Norway. The genus descends from Jæren and was once saved from extinction in the early 1900s.
Jaerhon chickens is available in two color options, dark and light. Darkness prevails. Mørke Jærhøns (MJ) and Lyse Jærhøns (LJ).
A Jaerhon Bantam variety of Jaerhon with two color variants was approved in 1994. source
- Rooster : 1.75 – 2.0 kg
- Hen: 1.5 – 1.75 kg
lays about 160 eggs per year.
