Originally from Cantabria, the Pedresa chicken is characterized by an irregular or stony barred plumage, which has given it its name, and a wild character, very well adapted to the humid and changing mountain climate of Cantabria, where its most important nucleus is located. Via ; gallipedia

The breed was approved by the Official Breed Committee of Spain in July 2015.

This is a light breed of hen, with creamy-white ears, rustic, lively and of double aptitude; It produces good quality meat and eggs in an interesting quantity as a jacket.

  • Rooster: 2.3-3.0 kg
  • Hen: 1.4-2.0 kg

It is an excellent producer of eggs around 200 per year
